Yesss totally agree! Sometimes ideas come to you when you're out and its so crucial to write them down right away in a single place.

I'm still working out what kind of database is best. Notes on your phone is probably easiest, I'm experimenting with pen-and-paper at the moment but might move back to digital at some point.
