I really love this advice. I think the fear that we are "copying" someone else's ideas when we share our point of view can be crippling to many writers.

That said -- I do think there are some new ideas! I think experts in a field can occasionally come across something completely foreign that changes the game, and those ideas garner a lot of attention.

That said, for 99.9% of writers, I completely agree that it's a waste of your potential to always try to be "new."
